In Ontario, support for gambling problems costs nothing, stays confidential and answers around the clock. Below are the phone numbers, the text line and the self-exclusion programs covering casinos and online sites.
Talk to ConnexOntario
ConnexOntario offers free, confidential help 24/7, by phone, by text or through online chat. Calls go to 1-866-531-2600. To use text, send the word CONNEX to 247247. The chat service is at connexontario.ca.
Each route costs nothing to use. The service does not close overnight or on weekends, so a person can reach it from a casino floor, a parked car or home.
Self-exclusion for casinos and online sites
Through OLG's My PlayBreak, a person can self-exclude from casinos in Ontario. Terms run for 3 or 6 months, or for 1 to 5 years. Sign-up is handled by the OLG Support Centre on 1-800-387-0098, through casino staff on the floor, or by visiting a PlaySmart Centre. A term cannot be ended early once it is picked, so its length is worth weighing carefully.
BetGuard covers online play. iGaming Ontario has operated it since May 14, 2026, and it bars a person from every regulated Ontario gambling site, OLG.ca included. Fixed spans of 6 months, 5 years and 1 year are available, and a custom term is too. Land-based casinos fall outside it, so taking a break from both requires enrolling in both programs. Details are at betguard.ca.
